The Stellenbosch University Cricket Club – more commonly known as ‘Maties’ – has its roots in Stellenbosch as far back as 1866. The club joined the Boland Cricket League in 1992 and currently has 5 teams in the league, including 1 women’s team. The club has launched several initiatives to establish itself as a major force in the Western Cape and South African cricket and has produced several great national cricket players since its establishment. The Club is proud to be associated with its main sponsor, Steinhoff International.
